45th Infantry, First State Color. The 45th regiment was composed of men from Tioga, Lancaster, Centre, Mifflin, and Wayne counties and was formed in October 1861. The state color was presented by Governor Curtin on October 22, 1861. Sergeant Joseph Reigle of Company E carried it until February 1864. At the beginning of 1864 most of the men re-enlisted for another three years, and the flag was retired in March 1864. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 17, 1865.

45th Infantry, Third State Color. The 45th regiment was composed of men from Tioga, Lancaster, Centre, Mifflin, and Wayne counties and was formed in October 1861. Sometime prior to December 24, 1864, the re-enlisted men of the 45th regiment received a third state color, after the capture of the second. The regiment was mustered out of service on July 17, 1865.
